⚠️ This iterationd of the WebUI is deprecated. I hope at some point to be able to create a new WebUI but until then this repository will be archived.
Bare bones web-based user interface for Replicante. Its main purpose is to visualise the current state of your clusters and what is happening to them.
Our aim is to build a thriving, healthy and diverse community.
To help us get there we decided to adopt the Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct
for all our projects.
Any issue should be reported to stefano-pogliani
by emailing conduct@replicante.io.
Unfortunately, as the community lucks members, we are unable to provide a second contact to report
incidents to. We would still encourage people to report issues, even anonymously.
In addition to the Code Of Conduct below the following documents are relevant:
- The Reporting Guideline, especially if you wish to report an incident.
- The Enforcement Guideline
git clone https://github.com/replicante-io/webui.git
cd webui/
npm install
npm run build
export REPLI_BACKEND_ROOT="http://localhost:16016"
npm run server
Build the image with the following command:
docker build --force-rm --tag replicanteio/webui:v$VERSION .
The image can then be used with:
docker run --rm -it -e 'REPLI_BACKEND_ROOT=http://replicante.api:16016' replicanteio/webui:v0.3
The main roadmap topics are determined by the Replicante project. Here are a few items that are specific to this WebIU project.
NOTE: I am not a big UI person so functionality will be limited and focused on read-only views.
This WebUI will eventually be rewritten from scratch for a few reasons:
- I don't like React and want to try Vue.js.
- I want a Rust backend providing endpoints for a TypeScript WebUI.
- Upcoming features in Core (namespaces, auth*) will force a complete architecture due over.
- Bootstrap 5 upgrade will likely need lots of changes to the existing version anyway.
What this means mainly is that React Router and React will NOT be upgraded to later versions (can't be bothered updating to React Router 6 if I'm dropping it and that blocks React 18).
