This PEP has been implemented across multiple tools now.

This is motivated by trimming the list of “may not be implemented yet” PEPs on the Packaging subindex up to date / relevant.

I just noticed this now, and the ship has sailed, but I think a stance/guidance from the Python core team about how to implement namespace packages via import hooks (python/cpython#92054) would have been relevant.
