Good news: I can confirm that specified combination of linux-firmware, mesa drivers, and xorg package resolves the cursor issue with the 7000 series AMD graphics cards.
Bad news: Now we get to test it top to bottom for release! 😁

Mesa2235.md

Looking at the RX 7900 XT specifically, but also integrated graphics on Mira B4, Mira R3, and Pang10; Hybrid graphics Oryp8; and desktops with discrete Nvidia (both a 710 and a 3060), I'm not seeing any regressions.

Benchmarks look consistent with what I'm seeing in the wild, Steam behaves with both native and proton games functioning well, and video playback is consistent. Monitors adjust correctly, hot plug works well. Swapping graphics cards doesn't cause issues.

Looks good.
