Once a Node is composed with InteractiveHighlighting it is impossible to prevent the highlight from being displayed (if the feature is enabled) other than using pickable: false. But maybe you still want the Node to be pickable. I think there should be another option/setter explicitly for this.

Found while working on phetsims/joist#858.
