@thomasshaped Few days ago I setup a subdomain (blog.ppalone.me) and added it to GitHub pages which got added very quickly and TLS Certificate was generated within minutes and “Enforce HTTP” options was also enabled. Its a low priority issue and also I can host the page like ppalone.me/articles with HTTPS. But articles.ppalone.me sounds badass 😅 |

Looks like it’s fixed now! 💥 I pressed some buttons on the back-end to re-request that certificate and looks like it’s gone through. Usually this should resolve itself automatically over time/when you visit the repository settings page, but I pushed it through for you. Your site should be secure now! https://articles.ppalone.me/ |

@thomasshaped is this a general issue that can be solved by the end user? We have the same issue at https://github.com/texfaq/texfaq.github.io/settings/pages dig www.texfaq.org shows what I think is the correct DNS records ;; ANSWER SECTION: But github pages never picks up a certificate and just gives a security warning page in most browsers. |

Hi, i had one capitalized letter because my user name was capitalized, so repo name was too and so on, so see if there is any capitalized letters and also this video helped me(for NAMECHEAP domains) |

Hi there, I have the same problem. The “TLS certificate is being provisioned” is constantly showing up. This has been the case for 3 days now after reconnecting my custom domain multiple times. My custom domain is: livingbrand.ninja or www.livingbrand.ninja The DNS settings are correctly pointing to github. However, it does not work. Can you help me here? |

I will buy ssl certificate from the same place i bought the domain. I have read a bit, and the problem is that my domain doesn't have valid SSL certificate and thats why its http and not https. So I will buy it probably today and let you know if something has changed. |

I habe wrote just now to the second posted thred, he is from github I guess so maybe try him? He didn't reply to me yet but he is the only one who I guess knows how to fix it. It on githubs backend where is the problem. |

Same to me. My domain with www is still working but subdomains like blog.domain or article.domain all went to the above error. UPDATE: But I have just fixed it magically xD I change subdomain record's value to username.github.io. instead of my domain. Then it works! |

@cowienduckie could you give additional info on how you solved the issue? Did you replace blog.domain for username.github.io for CNAME's value? That don't make sense to me. |

Found solution, chech does github name have any capitalized letters, and in name of repository also, if it has change it, then you need your domain in CNAME file, it should be automaticly generated but check, then go to domain provider, and you need to follow this video, https://youtu.be/FBtehan5DAo |

Yeah, mine was like that for 6 weeks. I just went in this morning (thanks for the reminder) and removed then re-added the domain. It made it step three in a matter of minutes and the site now works correctly. |

How do you make the Let's Encrypt certificate work with a GoDaddy domain? I'm kinda lost. GoDaddy documentation says it doesn't support Let's Encrypt certificates. Edit more: Soooo I just followed your steps and after waiting a bit, the option Enforce HTTPS was enabled. I didn't have to do anything else, like buying a SSL certificate from somewhere or manually installing Let's Encrypt with the GoDaddy domain (if it is even possible). Thank you soooo much! |

Just to add some more feedback around this issue that can be helpful for someone. Two days ago i moved https://github.com/rafsaf/rafsaf.pl back from netlify to gh-pages in that order:
This was probably not best order ever of doing this (better: wait for dns to propagate, then save custom domain in repo). Github ended up in weird state: After 2 days of retrying to visit gh-pages setting in repo few times per day, finally today it started to work again, 3 steps of certificate generation passed and I was able to use PS. Funny fact is that I now see anyway the same error message from gh-pages settings as in screenshot above... But since I managed to click on |

Hello! I set up a custom domain for a GitHub page more than a week ago. The DNS check says successful every time, and I have not change the DNS settings since the day I updated them (more than a week ago). However, I keep getting a message that "TLS certificate is being provisioned" it may take up to 15 min but its been days now. Somehow the HTTPS checkbox is checked but it says "Not yet available for your site because the certificate has not finished being issued." But when I go to the website pangeajuego.com I see the little lock on the left which means that the site is secure right? 
Any idea what could be happening? I have tried removing and re-adding the custom domain a few times (also deleting the c name file) and noting has worked. |

Just solved the issue. I had www pointing to @, changed it to point to my GitHub repository, and now working, and the check and certificate we issued almost immediately. Hope this helps others. |

i took my domain off it for a week and put it back on, also if you use cloudflare you can make it force HTTPS which also helps |
