Unix Mock Service Daemon (UMSD)

An underlying script for a unix service simulate. Designed to track start/stop/reload actions in order to evaluate the operation of a wrapper or service management platform.

Usage

$ ./service_daemon.sh --help

Usage: service_daemon.sh OPTIONS

Default port: 1234

Response format:
  TEST_STRING START_TIME PARENT_PID START_PID START_USER RELOAD_COUNTER

Example usage:
  ./service_daemon.sh &
  nc localhost 1234
  >>> Soundslikefunonabun 1372658056 -1 86056 nobody 0

Available options:
  --fork              Fork and return immediately
  --no-reload         Exit on reload (SIGHUP)
  --port PORT         Listen on alternate port
