Changing IT on Call
“IT On Call” is a generic OpenMRS ID (oncall) used to receive ITSM issues. It is the default assignee for ITSM tickets in JIRA. It is also an e-mail group in Google Apps (it-on-call@openmrs.org). This group is a simple distribution list to one or more recipients, and can contain e-mail addresses or SMS e-mail addresses.
From time to time, it may be necessary to change who receives IT On Call alerts, particularly SMS notifications of new tickets from Pingdom, etc.
First, log in to http://webmail.openmrs.org/ to establish your Google Apps session. Then, go to the following URL for the group administration page:
https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/openmrs.org/Group?groupId=it-on-call@openmrs.org
Add the desired e-mail address (or SMS mail address, e.g., 3175551212@txt.att.net) and click “Add” button.
To remove an entry no longer desired, tick the box next to that recipient and click “Remove Members”.
This is not preferred, but an alternative if Google Apps is not available. Go to the “Edit Project” page for the ITSM Project in JIRA (JIRA System Administrator rights required):
http://tickets.openmrs.org/secure/project/EditProject!default.jspa?pid=10062
Change the value of “Project Lead” to the desired user, then click “Update”. Since new tickets in the project are assigned to the Project Lead, this person will receive e-mail about the new project. If SMS notifications are desired, e-mail filters could be set up to forward such messages to the recipient's mobile phone.
