Change recommendation to capitalize "io.js" at the start of a sentence. A sentence is a sentence: No one has the right to change the basic rules of grammar.

Note that there is some variation of style with regard to trademarked names such as "iPhone" or "eBay." If "io.js" is a trademarked brand name, then we can recommend following appropriate style (some style guides say capitalize, but others not).

io.js is a name, not a "regular" word.

You can stylize names of things to be whatever you want, whether at the beginning of a sentence or not.

we've made our own styleguide here, don't capitalise it, just like you shouldn't capitalise "npm"

Still wrong. Even if it is not capitalized normally, it must still be capitalized when beginning a sentence. See the references above.
