Turpentine Extension for Magento #2
Labels

It sounds like you don't have a way to modify the VCL (configuration) that the Varnish server uses. Turpentine depends on the VCL it comes with for the changes it makes to the Magento response to have an effect. |

I am running a multi-store setp on magento CE v1.6.2 in a shared hosting environment. The shared host is running varnish v2.1. Unfortunately I do not have access to the server .VCL files as these are common to all clients on the shared host.
I have installed the Turpentine extension and have encountered an issue. At the top of each page of my sites is a Cart count i.e. a running count of the number of items added to the cart to that point. This count, as is normal, is incremented each time a new item is added to the cart and decremented each time an item is removed from the cart.
When I add an item to the cart and the cart count is correctly incremented, when I then select to continue shopping sometimes the cart count at the top of the page reflects the count before the latest item was added to the cart i.e. a cached page is served even though the cart count has changed.
How do I resolve this issue?
