Stunt Racer FX Graphic Glitch #231
Comments
I tested on both a 1-chip SNES and SNT and wasn't able to reproduce it. Maybe I didn't hit the right conditions. I do have a local change for SuperFX that I thought only affects StarFox performance. You can try it by putting the file inside the attached zip into your /sd2snes folder on the SD card. |
I know this is delayed but I'll give it a try and see if it happens again. |
I also had a problem with the japanese version "Wild Trax". Twice I witnessed the game freezing. I'm using a fxpak pro rev.b and a brazilian snes snsm-1chip-02. The race stopped but the visual signs on the sides of the track continued to alternate colors. I replaced the fpga_gsu file with this latest branchfix and so far I haven't had any more problems. I also noticed that the end of the Star Fox credits are synchronized with the music. @redacted173 thank you for your effort in improving this wonderful project. |
@redacted173 Any hope for a gsu build for OG SD2SNES, or is it not powerful enough ? |
How frequently does this occur? It seems like something that would be difficult to reproduce 🙈 Also, have you tried the alternative bitstream posted above? #231 (comment) |
It happened the very first time I played the game. I tried the alternate bitstream above and the crash did not happen but I only played through the level once to test it. |
I was playing through Stunt Racer FX (USA) (Rev 1) with my FXPAK Pro running version 1.11.0 and got to the 3rd race (Speed Trax - Novice - Sunset Valley) when a minute or so into the race the graphics half froze. What I mean is the clock was still running but I could no longer make out the vehicle nor the race track as it was a single color wipe across the screen. I was still able to hear the audio.
Also, I'm running the FXPAK Pro on an Analogue Super Nt with newest firmware and default settings.
I will attempt to screen capture the issue if it presents itself again.
