Make something expressive that's meaningful.

  1. How do people express themselves?
    • Symbolic expression (Icons, words, representations of emotional states.)
    • Raw expression (Force, loudness, amount of space you take up, thickness)
  2. How will you encourage expression beyond what people are normally willing to do?
  3. How will people collide with each other to create something unexpected?
  4. What is the balance between active participation and experiencing the output?

Make sure you prepare...

  1. The set-up
    • How are people arranged?
    • Are they standing, sitting, lying down?
    • Eyes open or closed?
    • Are they still, move around?
  2. Carefully craft and write-out the instructions you give people. How much do you tell them? What do you let them figure out themselves?
  3. Then ending: How do we know it's over?

And TEST TEST TEST it on yourselves.
