Hi, I have followed three different guides on installing Shairport-sync and have had the same results with each. The audio outputs on the headphone jack of my Raspberry Pi 4b, though rather faintly, but I cannot figure out how to make it output on HDMI. Edit: for clarification, other audio on the RPi does output to the HDMI port. Here is output from sps-alsa-explore:
The line about "hw:vc4hdmi0" :Shairport Sync can not use this device." jumps out at me, but I have no idea what or if anything can be done about it. Any advice? Thanks |

This was fixed simply by commenting out "dtparam=audio=on" in config.txt. In my case, all the steps listed in "INSTALL.md" are not necessary. Just comment out the line above from config.txt and do an apt install of "shairport-sync" and all is good. Thanks |
