cc: @niels9001 I created a "Area-Flyout" label for such feature requests |
Any progress? |
Any progress on this? |
Hm, let's check back what the ask is... There's a second page on the fly-out where every module can be switched on/off. Is that the answer to the question? If not, what would be? |
There's also issue #24880, where a whole different UX is proposed. What do you think about that? |
Thanks for the quick reply, Unfortunately, it's not the answer. I would like to be able to add/modify the list of quick launch items that appear when you click the system tray icon. A specific example is "Mouse pointer crosshairs." When it's activated, it doesn't appear on the main page. |
This could be a potential solution. Seems more complicated to achieve though whereas the other seems much simpler. |
Okay so - in general - these icons act as buttons and only a number of the modules can be activated directly like this. Many of them need either files or a window to act on. Including Always on Top. |
Issue 28592 Was identified as a DUP of this, but it really isn't. This has much broader scope - a general launcher. What Issue 28592 called for was just exposing more powertoys on the 1st quick access page so it is not neccesary to click "more". That should be easier than a general launcher, and would be very welcome! What is described in this issue should also cover configuring the toys themselves from the 1st Quick Access page, I would hope. Awake is the specific toy I would like to see on the Quick Access 1st page. |
I actually came to this issue through search; I assumed it was possible to customize the quick access popup but the UI was just obscure. Hopefully this feature is added; I primarily use powertoys for the Awake module and it would be lovely to get to it quicker. |
I posted a request to be able to have Awake show up in Quick Access (#34130), and it does seem silly that users can't choose which shortcuts to have here. |
A year later and still no luck on this that is unfortunate, it'd be so handy |
yeah, powertoys is really hard to use without it |
I would really love to see this feature. I constantly need to open Mouse Without Boarders to refresh the connections. It would be super helpful if I could add it to the quick access menu. |
I, too, am waiting for this feature. I think this should already be in place with the initial launch of PowerToys. |
I'd just plus-one this, but I'm honestly confused about how the "Quick access" interface was created in the first place without customizability being a day-one feature. Was it created when there was only a handful of utilities available in PowerToys? While ClaytonTDM's request involves a bit more complexity like groups (which would nicely match the newly minted groups introduced by v0.86.0) I'd be happy with simply being able to choose my favorite 9 utilities. Thank you to the entire team of devs that have put PT together and kept on adding great features over the years! 🥇 |
Please add this. |
Description of the new feature / enhancement
Act like the Windows 11 start menu, being able to pin items to it
(here's the menu I mean)
Scenario when this would be used?
I often use the Keyboard manager to change keybinds in a game I play, so it would be useful to quickly toggle it when I open the game without having to open the full PowerToys menu or clicking more and scrolling to find it
Supporting information
Allow it to act like this portion of the Start menu, but with switches below the title to toggle certain features:
