My idea would be:

What are spaces?

Spaces are a collections of rooms. #community:matrix.org is the official Matrix Community Space.
Spaces are the replacements for the deprecated communities which were also known as groups.

In the Definitions:
Space - Spaces are collections of rooms.
Community - Spaces are the replacement for the deprecated communities
Groups - Groups are also known as communities which is deprecated and replaced by Spaces

MTRNord added a commit to MTRNord/matrix.org that referenced this issue Aug 23, 2022
The communities feature was removed. The section is replaced with a section about spaces instead.
A defintion for spaces has been added. A note about groups and communities being deprecated has been added to their definitions in the gloassary.
