Hi ! I'm Emmanouil Bagakis

An experienced DevOps Engineer from Greece

  • I’m currently working at CERN as a Storage DevOps Engineer

    • Managing the Storage Infrustrucute for Users, Project and Media
    • Deployments, Software/OS upgrades, Maintenance of ~200 Bare metal and VM servers with a total of 45PB in capacity!
    • Monitoring of KPIs, cisualization and alarm and hook implementations to ensure high availability
    • Best security practices (Data Privacy compliance, GDPR etc.)
    • Tools and Automation scripts deployed to ensure fast release and tested cycles as well as decreased number and response time on users' tickets.

  • I used to also work as a Junior Cloud Engineer at CERN

    • Upstream development for Openstack
      • Node autoregistration to accelerate hardware procurement to deployment time.
      • Hardware Burn-in implementation in Ironic (Openstack's baremetal provisioning module)
      • Migration of legacy code to modern standards
      • Cloud provision support for users

  • Eager to try and learn new technologies

    • Passionate about automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
