This Quartz Composer plugin gets rid of the cables:
Either build in Xcode and you're done, or copy the unzipped plugin directly into the destination folder:
unzip Builds/QCAntennaConnections.plugin.zip -d ~/Library/Graphics/Quartz\ Composer\ Patches
