i'm not sure of the value of listing every single issues that got closed in that period in the changelog, a lot of them seem unrelated to required code changes in buildozer. I agree it's manual work to trim that list, but i'm not sure this list is really useful in this state.

100% agree, it's actually less work to trip it than to put it in place.
I'm happy to start dealing with it this way for now on which also feels more natural to me.
That would basically trip the list of closed issues down to zero or almost I think.
Should I do that?

Fixed I've stripped down the close issues section to zero. Basically all the closed issues where either fixed in previous release, where duplicates, support or other form of invalid.
