buildozer android release hangs at "compile platform"

Is it hanging, or just taking a while? This could take a few minutes. Enable log_level = 2 in buildozer.spec to see more of what's happening.

I'm closing this issue for now, but I'll open it if you find that it really is hanging somewhere.

thanks for getting back to me.

i let it run overnight. then i changed a few things and had some
other problems. i have given up for now on creating apk for my python
app and am setting up to run the app in qtpy as regular python app.
i'll be back at trying to create apks when i get that much done.

It sounds like you had some problems that are not just issues with the build taking some time. We can help debug this and fix any problems in buildozer if you give the logs of your build process (with log_level=2).
