Minimal Essentials

A minimal "essentials" skin for VirtualDJ.

This skin is derived from the default VirtualDJ "Essentials" skin and includes modifications intended to streamline the user interface by removing functionality which is less commonly used in non-mixing contexts (e.g., when DJing at a salsa dance social).

Notably, the skin does not include elements for

• effects
• looping
• padding
• scratching

as these elements are more common in traditional club contexts.

Installation

Download the latest release from

https://github.com/kgryte/virtualdj-skin-minimal-essentials/releases

Extract the downloaded archive to

~/path/to/VirtualDJ/Skins/minimal-essentials

In VirtualDJ, open Settings and select the skin from

Settings -> Interface -> Minimal Essentials

Notes

• Included in this repository is a keyboard mapping which pairs with the skin, providing keyboard shortcuts for each of the main user interface elements. To install, copy the mappings to the

  ~/path/to/VirtualDJ/Mappers
  

  directory. Once copied, open Settings and select the mapping from

  Settings -> Mapping
