Homelab

My homelab is composed of 3x Dell Optiplex 7050 machines with Kubernetes K3S on top of Ubuntu Server 22 operating system.

References

Contour as K3S Ingress Controller

projectcontour/contour#4718

I've removed Traefik as the default ingress-controller to be able to use Contour (envoy). I've installed it manually via helmchart and disabled the use of host port as it conflicts with k3s installation

helm install my-release bitnami/contour --namespace projectcontour --create-namespace --set envoy.useHostPort=false --kube-context=homelab

Longhorn for storage

kubectl create namespace longhorn-system --context homelab

helm repo add longhorn https://charts.longhorn.io --kube-context=homelab
helm repo update --kube-context=homelab
helm install longhorn longhorn/longhorn --namespace longhorn-system --kube-context=homelab

Run this to all nodes

sudo apt install nfs-common

Monitoring

I'm currently using https://www.statuscake.com/ to send me notifications if my healthcheck endpoint is up/down

VPN Configuration for Ubuntu 22

Followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnG7-IB6AsQ

But I've used this for the script:

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Nyr/openvpn-install/master/openvpn-install.sh -O ubuntu-22.04-lts-vpn-server.sh
