The current restrictable behavior performs redirections on the admin app in case there's licensing information that needs notifying. Some of these nofifications like subs expired, are also made with a re-direction, most often to the settings view. Sometimes we don't want to re-direct, but to show the message and additionally avoid the functionality of the current page to be available: DOClink, Linker, etc.
