Data Transfer Interval not working with Shinelink X RF

Hello!
I am using Grott 3.0 in server mode in local with mqtt, without internet, I am not even registered in growatt servers yet.

I have a MIN inverter with Shinelink X, if I change the Data Transfer Interval in the data logger to 0.1 or 0.5 the data is not refreshed every X seconds, sometimes it takes up to 20 minutes to appear and parse in grott server, the only data I see appearing on the grottserver is the ping data every 1/2 minutes.

Any idea what might be going on?

Our first growatt inverter broke and it was due to an missing firmware update cause that had been running for 7 or 8 years.

I suggest to connect that inverter and check from time to time if you might get an update. Otherwise the warranty becomes useless.
At least here we have now a 10 year warranty and therefore we get in touch with Growatt at least once a year to ask for updates cause even for the 5 year old one we have gotten update in the past 2 years.

Connect and then reroute to your grott server.
In case of any repair or spare parts you need to be online at least here - otherwise you have to ship the device around.

Pre covid the growatt support had been quite well and now they are back on track again compare to 2022 when we struggled a lot.
But they could check it out and send us a spare pcb which I could replace easily. Saved a lot of money cause shipping of a 31 kg unit has become ridiculous expensive. We have 8 Growatt inverters and some for about 10 years so we had 2 or 3 issues where the support was quite helpful and fast: 2 days and the inverter was producing again.

And there is no issue if you reconnect to the cloud 1,5 years later cause we had an inverter which has been offline for 2 years but during chrismas we were able to reconnect them all and let Growatt update all if there were updates available. 6 updates and no issue.

Be carefull in case you have in issue with an inverter to ask for a firmware or download it from somewhere.
If you are updating such inverter via USB and it bricks then it is your issue and not covered under warranty.
Hence we let them do the firmware and in any case they are responsible for any fix that might be needed.

Of cause we have 8 and the benefit might look bigger, but at the end it is always the same. Change the ip adress in the setting and open the browser - and then we have to wait for the call or mail from Growatt if everything is ready.
10 minutes later all inverters are disconnected and back on the local server.

We had 16 Growatt inverters so far and we have paid nothing for any repair or issue we thought the inverter could have but had not. We repower the systems every 9 years when the warranty is not over cause the buyer has more peace of mind with at least 1 year warranty.

I don't think it would be a bad idea to register the device, especially considering the warranty you mention, update it and disconnect the network again.
I'll give it a try and see if updates are available.

Is it possible that when you shorten the update interval to much the datalogger (RF stick/ShineWifi) can not keep up with it and will not function anymore? It is designed the send a datarecord every 5 minutes. With Grottserver it is maybe possible to go above (or below) the capabilities of the datalogger.

I configured my ShineWifi-X to update every minute, that seems to look ok. It doesn't seem I'm missing any data.
GROTT send the data to Growatt. GROTT also support the firmware upgrades, I had several firmware upgrade while my ShineWiFi-X Datalogger is connected to my GROTT server.

It is true (thanks @molekuul) : Grott in proxy mode will support firmware upgrades as long you don't have specified: blockcmd = True in the grott.ini!

I am not sure your inverter is broken. I think if something is broken it is the datalogger (Shinewifi, Lan or RF). I have seen this more often.

Hello!

Yesterday I finally received the installer code and have been able to access the growatt servers. I have updated my Shinelink X RF Box to version 7.0.0.9 and the RF Stick has also received an update. Now the 0.1min time works perfectly!!

Awesome! As I'm facing the same issue, could you describe how you got those codes? Did you mail some email address? What info did they need? Etc?
