Interactive script for configuring a Raspberry Pi boot partition
The following options can be configured:
- WiFi
- SSH
This initial functionality comes from a personal need; I expect to add more over time, and willingly accept pull requests.
Simply clone the repository:
git clone git@github.com:jbmorley/configure-raspberry-pi.git
You can optionally add it to the path for convenience:
export PATH=$PATH:~/path/to/configure-raspberry-pi
Run the following command, and answer the various commands:
configure-rasbperry-pi
The script currently expects to be run on macOS and assumes your Raspberry Pi boot
partition will be mounted at /Volumes/boot
. If you're using a different location, or operating system, you can specify this by passing the --root
flag. For example,
configure-raspberry-pi --boot /mnt/boot
The Raspberry Pi Imager has support for configuring both WiFi and SSH (along with a host of other options), making it a better solution in many scenarios. These can be accessed by pressing 'Ctrl + Shift + X'.
There are doubtless also many other alternatives out there. If you're looking for something significantly more comprehensive, I encourage you to take a look at PiBakery.
