Windows De-Bloat Script Tutorial 🧹

Overview

This PowerShell script helps you remove unwanted apps and optimize your Windows system with a user-friendly graphical interface.

Steps to Use the Script

1. Run the Script 📥

Open PowerShell as an Administrator and run this command to download the script:

Invoke-WebRequest -Uri "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/iscrit/Windows-debloat/main/Debloat.ps1" -OutFile "$env:TEMP\Debloat.ps1"; powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File "$env:TEMP\Debloat.ps1"

This saves the script file as Debloat.ps1 to your current directory.

2.Not working? 🔓

To run the script, you need to adjust PowerShell’s execution policy. Type the following in the same PowerShell window:

Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope Process -ExecutionPolicy Bypass

Press Y and then Enter to confirm.

3. Run the Script ▶️

Execute the script with this command:

.\Debloat.ps1

4. Using the GUI 🖥️

When the GUI opens:

  • Select All: Click the “Select All” button to check all apps. ✔️
  • Check Boxes: Check the boxes next to the apps you want to remove. 🗑️
  • Options: Choose to:
    • Disable unnecessary services 🛠️
    • Turn off telemetry 🚫
    • Disable Cortana 🔍
    • Install Intel or AMD drivers 🖥️
    • Install Chromium 🌐
  • Run: Click the “Run” button to start removing the selected apps and applying changes. 🚀

Status Updates: The status box will show which apps are being removed and if any apps were already removed.

Troubleshooting 🛠️

  • Script Doesn’t Run: Make sure you are running PowerShell as Administrator and that you’ve set the execution policy.
  • Errors in GUI: Ensure there are no issues with the script file. Check for typos or missing elements.
