Looks like a MachinePipeliner algorithm problem found by
sanitizer-x86_64-linux-fast.
I will backout this test first while investigating the problem to
unblock buildbot.

Introduction
============

This patch added intial support for bpf program compile once
and run everywhere (CO-RE).

The main motivation is for bpf program which depends on
kernel headers which may vary between different kernel versions.
The initial discussion can be found at https://lwn.net/Articles/773198/.

Currently, bpf program accesses kernel internal data structure
through bpf_probe_read() helper. The idea is to capture the
kernel data structure to be accessed through bpf_probe_read()
and relocate them on different kernel versions.

On each host, right before bpf program load, the bpfloader
will look at the types of the native linux through vmlinux BTF,
calculates proper access offset and patch the instruction.

To accommodate this, three intrinsic functions
   preserve_{array,union,struct}_access_index
are introduced which in clang will preserve the base pointer,
struct/union/array access_index and struct/union debuginfo type
information. Later, bpf IR pass can reconstruct the whole gep
access chains without looking at gep itself.

This patch did the following:
  . An IR pass is added to convert preserve_*_access_index to
    global variable who name encodes the getelementptr
    access pattern. The global variable has metadata
    attached to describe the corresponding struct/union
    debuginfo type.
  . An SimplifyPatchable MachineInstruction pass is added
    to remove unnecessary loads.
  . The BTF output pass is enhanced to generate relocation
    records located in .BTF.ext section.

Typical CO-RE also needs support of global variables which can
be assigned to different values to different hosts. For example,
kernel version can be used to guard different versions of codes.
This patch added the support for patchable externals as well.

Example
=======

The following is an example.

  struct pt_regs {
    long arg1;
    long arg2;
  };
  struct sk_buff {
    int i;
    struct net_device *dev;
  };

  #define _(x) (__builtin_preserve_access_index(x))
  static int (*bpf_probe_read)(void *dst, int size, const void *unsafe_ptr) =
          (void *) 4;
  extern __attribute__((section(".BPF.patchable_externs"))) unsigned __kernel_version;
  int bpf_prog(struct pt_regs *ctx) {
    struct net_device *dev = 0;

    // ctx->arg* does not need bpf_probe_read
    if (__kernel_version >= 41608)
      bpf_probe_read(&dev, sizeof(dev), _(&((struct sk_buff *)ctx->arg1)->dev));
    else
      bpf_probe_read(&dev, sizeof(dev), _(&((struct sk_buff *)ctx->arg2)->dev));
    return dev != 0;
  }

In the above, we want to translate the third argument of
bpf_probe_read() as relocations.

  -bash-4.4$ clang -target bpf -O2 -g -S trace.c

The compiler will generate two new subsections in .BTF.ext,
OffsetReloc and ExternReloc.
OffsetReloc is to record the structure member offset operations,
and ExternalReloc is to record the external globals where
only u8, u16, u32 and u64 are supported.

   BPFOffsetReloc Size
   struct SecLOffsetReloc for ELF section #1
   A number of struct BPFOffsetReloc for ELF section #1
   struct SecOffsetReloc for ELF section #2
   A number of struct BPFOffsetReloc for ELF section #2
   ...
   BPFExternReloc Size
   struct SecExternReloc for ELF section #1
   A number of struct BPFExternReloc for ELF section #1
   struct SecExternReloc for ELF section #2
   A number of struct BPFExternReloc for ELF section #2

  struct BPFOffsetReloc {
    uint32_t InsnOffset; ///< Byte offset in this section
    uint32_t TypeID; ///< TypeID for the relocation
    uint32_t OffsetNameOff; ///< The string to traverse types
  };

  struct BPFExternReloc {
    uint32_t InsnOffset; ///< Byte offset in this section
    uint32_t ExternNameOff; ///< The string for external variable
  };

Note that only externs with attribute section ".BPF.patchable_externs"
are considered for Extern Reloc which will be patched by bpf loader
right before the load.

For the above test case, two offset records and one extern record
will be generated:
  OffsetReloc records:
        .long   .Ltmp12                 # Insn Offset
        .long   7                       # TypeId
        .long 242 # Type Decode String
        .long   .Ltmp18                 # Insn Offset
        .long   7                       # TypeId
        .long 242 # Type Decode String

  ExternReloc record:
        .long   .Ltmp5                  # Insn Offset
        .long   165                     # External Variable

  In string table:
        .ascii  "0:1"                   # string offset=242
        .ascii  "__kernel_version"      # string offset=165

The default member offset can be calculated as
    the 2nd member offset (0 representing the 1st member) of struct "sk_buff".

The asm code:
    .Ltmp5:
    .Ltmp6:
            r2 = 0
            r3 = 41608
    .Ltmp7:
    .Ltmp8:
            .loc    1 18 9 is_stmt 0        # t.c:18:9
    .Ltmp9:
            if r3 > r2 goto LBB0_2
    .Ltmp10:
    .Ltmp11:
            .loc    1 0 9                   # t.c:0:9
    .Ltmp12:
            r2 = 8
    .Ltmp13:
            .loc    1 19 66 is_stmt 1       # t.c:19:66
    .Ltmp14:
    .Ltmp15:
            r3 = *(u64 *)(r1 + 0)
            goto LBB0_3
    .Ltmp16:
    .Ltmp17:
    LBB0_2:
            .loc    1 0 66 is_stmt 0        # t.c:0:66
    .Ltmp18:
            r2 = 8
            .loc    1 21 66 is_stmt 1       # t.c:21:66
    .Ltmp19:
            r3 = *(u64 *)(r1 + 8)
    .Ltmp20:
    .Ltmp21:
    LBB0_3:
            .loc    1 0 66 is_stmt 0        # t.c:0:66
            r3 += r2
            r1 = r10
    .Ltmp22:
    .Ltmp23:
    .Ltmp24:
            r1 += -8
            r2 = 8
            call 4

For instruction .Ltmp12 and .Ltmp18, "r2 = 8", the number
8 is the structure offset based on the current BTF.
Loader needs to adjust it if it changes on the host.

For instruction .Ltmp5, "r2 = 0", the external variable
got a default value 0, loader needs to supply an appropriate
value for the particular host.

Compiling to generate object code and disassemble:

…_GEP

Before, we weren't able to select things like this for G_GEP:

add	x0, x8, #8

And instead we'd materialize the 8.

This teaches GISel to do that. It gives some considerable code size savings
on 252.eon-- about 4%!

…the branch where it's used

The existing code is not defined, you are not allowed
to produce non-null pointer from null pointer (F->FileSortedDecls here).
That being said, i'm not really confident this is fix-enough, but we'll see.

bb-sycl pushed a commit that referenced this issue Dec 11, 2019
After creating a low-overhead loop, the loop update instruction was still
lingering around hurting performance. This removes dead loop update
instructions, which in our case are mostly SUBS instructions.

To support this, some helper functions were added to MachineLoopUtils and
ReachingDefAnalysis to analyse live-ins of loop exit blocks and find uses
before a particular loop instruction, respectively.

This is a first version that removes a SUBS instruction when there are no other
uses inside and outside the loop block, but there are some more interesting
cases in test/CodeGen/Thumb2/LowOverheadLoops/mve-tail-data-types.ll which
shows that there is room for improvement. For example, we can't handle this
case yet:

    ..
    dlstp.32  lr, r2
  .LBB0_1:
    mov r3, r2
    subs  r2, #4
    vldrh.u32 q2, [r1], #8
    vmov  q1, q0
    vmla.u32  q0, q2, r0
    letp  lr, .LBB0_1
  @ %bb.2:
    vctp.32 r3
    ..

which is a lot more tricky because r2 is not only used by the subs, but also by
the mov to r3, which is used outside the low-overhead loop by the vctp
instruction, and that requires a bit of a different approach, and I will follow
up on this.

because at this point there are two instructions defining Res: the
original G_SMULO/G_UMULO and the new G_MUL that we built. The fix is
to modify the original mul in place, so that there is only ever one
definition of Res.

[ARM] generate armv6m eXecute Only (XO) code for immediates, globals

Previously eXecute Only (XO) support was implemented for targets that support
MOVW/MOVT (~armv7+). See: https://reviews.llvm.org/D27449

XO prevents the compiler from generating data accesses to code sections. This
patch implements XO codegen for armv6-M, which does not support MOVW/MOVT, and
must resort to the following general pattern to avoid loads:

    movs    r3, :upper8_15:foo
    lsls    r3, #8
    adds    r3, :upper0_7:foo
    lsls    r3, #8
    adds    r3, :lower8_15:foo
    lsls    r3, #8
    adds    r3, :lower0_7:foo
    ldr     r3, [r3]

This is equivalent to the code pattern generated by GCC.

The above relocations are new to LLVM and have been implemented in a parent
patch: https://reviews.llvm.org/D149443.

This patch limits itself to implementing codegen for this pattern and enabling
XO for armv6-M in the backend.

Separate patches will follow for:
- switch tables
- replacing specific loads from constant islands which are spread out over the
  ARM backend codebase. Amongst others: FastISel, call lowering, stack frames.

This PR allows linking to libclc when compiling for SYCL Native CPU.
Currently only the `x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu` target triple is
supported, additional target triples (and possibly a more versatile way
of setting them) will come with follow up PRs.
Some useful information for reviewing:
* We start using an `AddrSpaceMap` (set in `TargetInfo.cpp`) because the
mangled names emitted by the device compiler need to match with the
names provided by `libclc`. The AddressSpaceMap is taken from the `PTX`
Target.
* Changes in `Driver` are needed to find and link to `libclc`.
* `libclc/ptx-nvidiacl/libspirv/atomic/loadstore_helpers.ll` has been
split into 4 modules, one for each memory ordering constraint. Copies of
these modules have been added in `generic` (because some functions in
`generic/libspirv/atomic` needed them), and the module split allows to
specialize the file for targets that may not support some orderings.
Currently only a couple of function for `acquire` and `seq_cst` have
been implemented for `generic`, but the others will be implemented in a
follow up PR.
* We've added a target in `libclc` for `x86_64-unknown-linux`. This has
been done because some math builtins in `generic` have been defined as
```
typedef char vec __attribute__((ext_vector_type(8)));
__attribute__((overloadable)) vec __clc_native_popcount(vec x) __asm("llvm.ctpop" ".v16i" "8");
vec call(vec x) {
  return __clc_native_popcount(x);
}
```
While this approach conveniently allows to call directly LLVM
intrinsics, it does seem to play well with the ABI for
`x86_64-unknown-linux`, since it leads to this IR:
```
define dso_local double @call(double noundef %x.coerce) #0 {
entry:
  %0 = bitcast double %x.coerce to <8 x i8>
  %1 = bitcast <8 x i8> %0 to double
  %call = call double @llvm.ctpop.v8i8(double noundef %1) #8
  %2 = bitcast double %call to <8 x i8>
  %3 = bitcast <8 x i8> %2 to double
  ret double %3
}
```
Which is invalid because `lvm.ctpop.v8i8` expect a vector of `i8` and
not a `double`, leading to failing asserts in the compiler that
prevented from building `libclc`.

As a temporary work around we have added empty files that override the
files in `generic` when building for `x86_64-unknown-linux`, allowing to
complete the build, even though the corresponding builtins will be
missing from the library. We are working on a proper solution for this.

…fine.parallel verifier

This patch updates AffineParallelOp::verify() to check each result type matches
its corresponding reduction op (i.e, the result type must be a `FloatType` if
the reduction attribute is `addf`)

affine.parallel will crash on --lower-affine if the corresponding result type
cannot match the reduction attribute.

```
      %128 = affine.parallel (%arg2, %arg3) = (0, 0) to (8, 7) reduce ("maxf") -> (memref<8x7xf32>) {
        %alloc_33 = memref.alloc() : memref<8x7xf32>
        affine.yield %alloc_33 : memref<8x7xf32>
      }
```
This will crash and report a type conversion issue when we run `mlir-opt --lower-affine`

```
Assertion failed: (isa<To>(Val) && "cast<Ty>() argument of incompatible type!"), function cast, file Casting.h, line 572.
…tePluginObject
After llvm/llvm-project#68052 this function changed from returning
a nullptr with `return {};` to returning Expected and hitting `llvm_unreachable` before it could
do so.
I gather that we're never supposed to call this function, but on Windows we actually do call
this function because `interpreter->CreateScriptedProcessInterface()` returns
`ScriptedProcessInterface` not `ScriptedProcessPythonInterface`. Likely because
`target_sp->GetDebugger().GetScriptInterpreter()` also does not return a Python related class.
The previously XFAILed test crashed with:
That might be a bug on the Windows side, or an artifact of how our build is setup,
but whatever it is, having `CreatePluginObject` return an error and
the caller check it, fixes the failing test.
The built lldb can run the script command to use Python, but I'm not sure if that means
anything.
Judging by the backtrace something is trying to read the pointer authentication address/code mask
registers. This explains why I've not seen this issue locally, as the buildbot runs on Graviton
3 with has the pointer authentication extension.
I will try to reproduce, fix and re-enable the test.
… smstart/smstop. (#78294)
This patch introduces a 'COALESCER_BARRIER' which is a pseudo node that
expands to
a 'nop', but which stops the register allocator from coalescing a COPY
node when
its use/def crosses a SMSTART or SMSTOP instruction.
For example:
    %0:fpr64 = COPY killed $d0
    undef %2.dsub:zpr = COPY %0       // <- Do not coalesce this COPY
    ADJCALLSTACKDOWN 0, 0
MSRpstatesvcrImm1 1, 0, csr_aarch64_smstartstop, implicit-def dead $d0
    $d0 = COPY killed %0
    BL @use_f64, csr_aarch64_aapcs
If the COPY would be coalesced, that would lead to:
    $d0 = COPY killed %0
being replaced by:
    $d0 = COPY killed %2.dsub
which means the whole ZPR reg would be live upto the call, causing the
MSRpstatesvcrImm1 (smstop) to spill/reload the ZPR register:
    str     q0, [sp]   // 16-byte Folded Spill
    smstop  sm
    ldr     z0, [sp]   // 16-byte Folded Reload
    bl      use_f64
which would be incorrect for two reasons:
1. The program may load more data than it has allocated.
2. If there are other SVE objects on the stack, the compiler might use
the
   'mul vl' addressing modes to access the spill location.
By disabling the coalescing, we get the desired results:
    str     d0, [sp, #8]  // 8-byte Folded Spill
    smstop  sm
    ldr     d0, [sp, #8]  // 8-byte Folded Reload
    bl      use_f64
TestCases/Misc/Linux/sigaction.cpp fails because dlsym() may call malloc
on failure. And then the wrapped malloc appears to access thread local
storage using global dynamic accesses, thus calling
___interceptor___tls_get_addr, before REAL(__tls_get_addr) has
been set, so we get a crash inside ___interceptor___tls_get_addr. For
example, this can happen when looking up __isoc23_scanf which might not
exist in some libcs.
Fix this by marking the thread local variable accessed inside the
debug checks as "initial-exec", which does not require __tls_get_addr.
This is probably a better alternative to llvm/llvm-project#83886.
This fixes a different crash but is related to llvm/llvm-project#46204.
While lowering (#pragma omp target update from), clang's generated
.omp_task_entry. is setting up 9 arguments while calling
__tgt_target_data_update_nowait_mapper.
At the same time, in __tgt_target_data_update_nowait_mapper, call to
targetData<TaskAsyncInfoWrapperTy>() is converted to a sibcall assuming
it has the argument count listed in the signature.
AARCH64 asm sequence for this is as follows (removed unrelated insns):
`
.omp_task_entry..108:
  sub   sp, sp, #32
  stp   x29, x30, sp, #16       // 16-byte Folded Spill
  add   x29, sp, #16
  str   x8, sp, #8. // stack canary
  str   xzr, [sp]
  bl   __tgt_target_data_update_nowait_mapper
__tgt_target_data_update_nowait_mapper:
  sub   sp, sp, #32
  stp   x29, x30, sp, #16       // 16-byte Folded Spill
  add   x29, sp, #16
  str   x8, sp, #8 // stack canary
  adrp  x8, .L.str.8
  add   x8, x8, :lo12:.L.str.8
  str   x8, x29, #32. <==. This is the insn that erases $fp
On AArch64, call to __tgt_target_data_update_nowait_mapper in
.omp_task_entry. sets up only single space on stack and this results in
ovewriting $fp and subsequent stack corruption. This issue can be
credited to discrepancy of __tgt_target_data_update_nowait_mapper
signature in openmp/libomptarget/include/omptarget.h taking 13 arguments
while clang/lib/CodeGen/CGOpenMPRuntime.cpp and
llvm/include/llvm/Frontend/OpenMP/OMPKinds.def taking only 9 arguments.
This patch modifies __tgt_target_data_update_nowait_mapper signature to
match .omp_task_entry usage(and other 2 files mentioned above).
Compilers and language runtimes often use helper functions that are
fundamentally uninteresting when debugging anything but the
compiler/runtime itself. This patch introduces a user-extensible
mechanism that allows for these frames to be hidden from backtraces and
automatically skipped over when navigating the stack with `up` and
`down`.
This does not affect the numbering of frames, so `f <N>` will still
provide access to the hidden frames. The `bt` output will also print a
hint that frames have been hidden.
My primary motivation for this feature is to hide thunks in the Swift
programming language, but I'm including an example recognizer for
`std::function::operator()` that I wished for myself many times while
debugging LLDB.
Example output. (Yes, my proof-of-concept recognizer could hide even
more frames if we had a method that returned the function name without
the return type or I used something that isn't based off regex, but it's
really only meant as an example).
Random testing revealed it's possible to crash the analyzer with the
command line invocation:
clang -cc1 -analyze -analyzer-checker=nullability empty.c
where the source file, empty.c is an empty source file.
```

This commit removes the assertion which failed here, because it was
logically incorrect: it required that if an Event is handled by some
(enabled) checker, then there must be an **enabled** checker which can
emit that kind of Event. It should be OK to disable the event-producing
checkers but enable an event-consuming checker which has different
responsibilities in addition to handling the events.

Note that this assertion was in an `#ifndef NDEBUG` block, so this
change does not impact the non-debug builds.

For now, just avoid submitting expressions to Z3 to avoid compiler
