AstroNvim User Configuration Example

A user configuration template for AstroNvim

• ✓ , as leader key (see options.lua)

• ✓ Rust analyzer via rust-tools for inlay hints!

• ✓ Solarized colorscheme

• ✓ VictorMono Nerd Font (see options.lua)

• ✓ Disable auto format as it changes some of AstroNvim’s lua files when editing them. Diffs look ugly.

• ✓ CoPilot! (see plugins/community.lua)

• ✓ Remove indent-blankline because I just really don’t like the look of it. (see plugins/disabled.lua)

• ❏ Add filepath and filename to heirline.lua. Not quite like I want it yet.

• ❏ Add in custom snippets

🛠️ Installation

Make a backup of your current nvim and shared folder

mv ~/.config/nvim ~/.config/nvim.bak
mv ~/.local/share/nvim ~/.local/share/nvim.bak

Clone AstroNvim

Tip	You only need to do this if you don’t already have AstroNvim installed

git clone https://github.com/AstroNvim/AstroNvim ~/.config/nvim

Create a new user repository from this template

Tip	If you just want to try out my template you don’t have to do this step at the moment, so skip to the clone the repository step.

Press the "Use this template" button above to create a new repository to store your user configuration.

You can also just clone this repository directly if you do not want to track your user configuration in GitHub.

Clone the repository

To clone my repository and test it out

git clone https://github.com/inneralien/astronvim_config ~/.config/nvim/user

To clone your own repository you just need to change your URL

git clone https://github.com/<your_user>/<your_repository> ~/.config/nvim/lua/user
