Resizing a span also resizes other overlapping or stacked spans #5270
Comments
Ok, that's scary. I can reproduce an issue that if I have two annotations (even on different layers) that are stacked and I resize one of them, the other also resizes simultaneously. I'll look into it. Thanks for reporting! |

- Only resize token-attached annotations if the annotation being resized is actually a token - not for any arbitrary annotations

During Curation, we tried to change the span of an existing annotation. In this sentence (no. 13), there are two overlapping annotations with the exact same span, but the annotations are different layers (one "Codierung", one "Wertung"). We tried to reduce the "Wertung" span but not the "Codierung" span by dragging the orange button of the "Wertung" span to the right. Usually, the "Codierung" would stay the same; however, in this case, both annotations were automatically reduced to the length that we only wanted the "Wertung" to be.
Furthermore, one more annotation ("Trigger-Codierung") within the original "Codierung" and "Wertung"-spans moved with them, even though it wasn't selected, to the point that this annotation was completely broken and couldn't even be selected or deleted any more. In trying to correct this, the whole text became broken somehow; the original user cannot open it at all any more in both Curation and Annotation mode (see Screenshot 1).
Another user can open the text in Curation mode but the sentence above (no. 13) doesn't load anymore (it automatically jumps back to sentence 12 if 13 is selected in the left-hand menu), and in the Annotation pane, it is not possible to skip further than sentence no. 2 (see Screenshot 2). In Annotation mode, if we set the document length to 12 rows, we can still see all 12 sentences, but as soon as we try skipping to 13, another error message appears (see Screenshot 3). This is why we cannot provide screenshots of how the annotations of sentence 13 originally looked like.
