Comments
fixed it! you can download the release on Github (ByeNotch v2) adds support for you Macbook, but the AppStore release still needs to be approved. :) GIVE IT A STAR |
Hi there!
Thanks for fixing this so quickly! I am an iOS developer but I’ve never
run a MacBook app from source.
After I clone your project, what is the command to run ByeNotch?

Of course! There is no need to clone. Simply download the app from here: https://github.com/ignaciojuarez/ByeNotch/releases/tag/v2.1 and click on the .app.zip to download 👍🏻 Give it a star and AppStore review :) |
Hi Ignacio,
I saw the update was live today so I tried it, and unfortunately it does
not hide the notch on my 16" MBP.
Instead, it makes the screen black all the way across at the height of the
notch. The result is that you don't see a notch, but you have still lost
that top 10% of the screen.
But maybe I am confused about your intent: is the idea to keep ALL of the
screen area as if there was no camera there? Or maybe even if the notch
has to stay, allow apps to open up to the very top of the screen instead of
all being forced below the notch altitude? That would be great, even if
it meant that some part of the app is hidden by the notch.
Anyway, thanks for working on this!

Then you will have to go here to allow an app to open from the internet.
The update should be in the App Store tomorrow either way.

Hello @CalderBot! |
Ahh, okay thanks for clearing that up. When I saw “get the top 10% of the
screen back” I thought this would make the top part usable. Darn!

Hello @CalderBot <https://github.com/CalderBot>!
You can see the app description and images, the app's intent is to add
that black bar up top. Some apps make a border all around the screen to
accommodate the notch. The purpose of ByeNotch, is to allow those legacy
apps to run in fullscreen.

Thank you for making this app. I want to be able to use the entire screen.
On MBP 16" Sonoma 14.1, clicking "Hi Notch" "Bye Notch" has no effect.
