In many micro-service environments a big complaint is the numerous moving parts, the intention of this tool is to simplify development in this sort of environment... It can remove the negativity that is often directed towards this architectural paradigm...

This tool has evolved from humble beginnings with the input of many very talented devs, written to help on a micro-service based project where services are born and evolve quickly and the pain of staying up to date with how to start and stop upstream and downstream services is painful. This tool frees users from this wasted time to get on with what they love, "making great software" -> I presume :)

Because the tool has evolved over time some of the higher functions are more niche, so the real world usage is written to flow in a semi organic way and is written in the order that an organisation might go about starting to use this. Also, let it be said sm is not perfect yet (no!!!), but it's actively in dev so if you see ways to improve get in touch or even better, make a pull request and we can all benefit.
