Description

Terraform version: 0.12.7
Provider Version: 2.26.0

As the title of the issue suggests, it appears that the resource aws_ssm_association doesn't support import.

I'm going through converting multiple AWS accounts into terraform for infrastructure management. This means that in all of my accounts I've already got an association when it comes to enabling SSM inventory management.

I'm fairly sure I have the definition right, but there is no way for me to be sure that I am not missing something from the AWS created association.

I'd like to be able to import the resource and then run a terraform plan to see what changes terraform thinks it needs to make (if any)

Currently the only workaround is to delete the existing association and pray that you haven't missed something important in your terraform resource.

New or Affected Resource(s)

  • aws_ssm_association

Potential Terraform Configuration

Something like terraform import aws_ssm_association.inventory ${Existing_Association_ID} might be a nice way to do this?

This has been released in version 2.29.0 of the Terraform AWS provider. Please see the Terraform documentation on provider versioning or reach out if you need any assistance upgrading.

For further feature requests or bug reports with this functionality, please create a new GitHub issue following the template for triage. Thanks!
