The RISC-V GCC toolchain has a new home in the xPack project:
To install the new versions, use:
$ xpm uninstall --global @xpack-dev-tools/riscv-none-embed-gcc
The GNU MCU Eclipse plug-ins were updated and since Sep. 2019 (v4.6.1) this name is also recognised. For older versions of the plug-ins, adjust the path manually.
Since there are xPacks referring to its binaries, this project will be preserved, at least for a while, but there will be no further changes, and the project will be archived.

Version v8.2.0-2.2-20190521 is a maintenance release of GNU MCU Eclipse RISC-V Embedded GCC, that fixes the previous bug affecting GDB on macOS.

The toolchain is also available as the @gnu-mcu-eclipse/riscv-none-gcc xPack and can be conveniently installed with xpm:

- on macOS, the
riscv-none-embed-gdbprogram fails when certain commands are used; this is a known GDB build problem, and will be fixed in the next release.
