Migrating from MoonDeploy 1.0 or 2.0 to MoonDeploy 3

Gianluca Costa edited this page Apr 12, 2016 · 1 revision

Introduction

MoonDeploy 3 introduces a few changes in the directory structure:

  • the app gallery (apps subdirectory) is no more under MoonDeploy's directory, and is no more a settings parameter: instead, the app gallery, as well as the logs directory, is now a subdirectory of the local directory, which can be configured by the user and defaults to USER_HOME/MoonDeploy.

  • the Settings file has now a different format - please refer to the Settings wiki page

  • logs are no more printed to the screen, but every application execution now has a dedicated file within the logs directory, in the local directory

Suggested steps to upgrade from MoonDeploy 1.0/2.0

  1. Uninstall the previous version of MoonDeploy
  2. Delete its directory
  3. Delete the related settings file (USER_HOME/.moondeploy.json)
  4. Install the new version of MoonDeploy
