There is a job to push changes but, other than merging develop, no changes are made (updating the gaffer-tools version):

gaffer-tools/.github/workflows/release.yaml

Line 45 in bec14a6

git commit -a -m "prepare release $artifactId-$RELEASE_VERSION"

A line to update gaffer-tools versions should be added like this:
