Welcome to the Neuropragmatics & Emotion Lab (Pell Lab) wiki!

This page will contain resources, guides, and code contributed by members of the lab. The wiki will be a collaborative effort to preserve workflows and data processing pipelines, as well as detailed equipment use guides, to benefit both current and future lab members.

If you are a member of the Pell lab, you can contribute to the wiki by:

  • Writing an entry about something new that you have learned on data analysis, computational workflows, equipment use, coding, etc, that you think will be useful to others!
  • Improving or correcting an existing entry.

☝️ To contribute you will need to have a GitHub account (it is free and easy).

Content

EEG equipment

Tutorials and workflows for operating the equipment in our EEG room to successfully run experiments:

  • Tutorial: Recording EEG signal
  • Setting up the monitors for experiments
  • Tips and tricks for running experiments

Writing experiments

We use several tools to write experiments, present stimuli, and collect data from participants. Here we collect tutorials, code, FAQs, and tricks to use PsychToolbox, jsPsych, etc.

  • Setting up the Cedrus response box on Psychtoolbox
  • Get the trigger box working on Psychtoolbox
  • Display timing accuracy diagnostics with Psychtoolbox

Data analysis with R

R is a powerful open-source statistical analysis and modeling tool. Sharing code with others and using others' code is the best way to learn and ensure methodological consistency across studies.

  • ERP data treatment
  • Plotting ERP data

Neuroimaging data processing and analysis with MATLAB

  • EEGLAB introduction
  • SPM resources for fMRI
