Today the detection to which data stream a package belongs is based on a pattern: #66461 (comment) But a dataset name is not required to contain the package name, dataset foo could belong to package bar. Because of this we will need to detect the package based on information we have about the packages instead of trying to read it out from the dataset name itself.
