Ripple component library for React framework #1001
-
Hi Team, are there any plans for having a component library for the React framework? I am currently in an engagement for Department of Education Victoria who want to use React ecosystem for the front-end and also leverage the Ripple Design System for the UI layer. However, we only have the component library for Vue and Nuxt. Is there a preferred approach on how to use these UI components within a React frontend? |

Hi @fahadahmed - The Ripple design system was created by the Single Digital Presence (SDP) team within the Department of Government Services (formerly DPC). It was created to deliver SDP websites, based upon our headless Drupal and Nuxt stack. We have sought to have better support for it as the design system for the Victorian Government, but currently are not funded to support projects outside of SDP. Hence while we have some limited support for using Ripple outside of SDP -(See https://ripple.sdp.vic.gov.au/design-system/develop/usage for more information), we don't currently have a production ready React version. I would like to talk further about the Department of Education project and how we may be able to assist, I have sent you an invite to our Slack vic-sdp.slack.com - perhaps we can talk further there. Otherwise, please feel free to send me an email at dylan.kelly@dpc.vic.gov.au Regards, Dylan Kelly. Front End Lead - SDP. |
