In regulated industries the need to comply with certain rules might be the reason why things are slower than they could be. But compliance can and should be "DevOps" and I want to explain why. |

Title = "From promise theory to autonomous teams"
Type = "talk" | ||
Speakers = ["henrik-hoegh"]
+++ | ||
|
||
In this talk you will get to know what promise theory is and how it makes the case for autonomous teams. During the talk you will learn how it forms the basis for a lot of software we use today like Kubernetes, how it relates to people, culture and why teams should be autonomous. After the talk you will understand why this theory is so fundamental, powerful and widely applicable. |

Title = "You can't handle complexity without honesty"
Type = "talk" | ||
Speakers = ["mads-danquah"]

The development and operation of software is getting more and more complex. A key feature of complexity is that you can't predict what's going to happen next. So how do we then go about handling planning and execution if even the "experts" can’t tell us what to do next? With honesty, that’s how! |

I started as a web developer in 2007 and soon switched to software development for about 6 years. Somewhere along the way I discovered that automating things and making developers' lives easier made my work fun. I then spent almost 5 years as a CI/CD consultant for embedded software companies where the whole process relied heavily on hardware, which was an additional challenge.
Currently I'm working as a DevOps Engineer in Customer Success and Developer Relations at Merkely and I'm a Jenkins Governance Board member. |
