Ruby made sense when using Heroku but with the free tier at Heroku gone, building the content statically allows for hosting it on GitHub pages. (See gh-pages branch in my fork for an example, I can make a PR for it, too.)
This might be too much of a change for a PR but I liked this project and would love to keep seeing it online.
