Hi @carlosflorencio, not ignoring this one, just trying to decide whether it's worth adding an extra feature for. Trying to pay attention to how often I end up needing it and what I tend to do as a workaround.

Much of the time, what I actually want to copy is the filename, which ends up being a trivial yank and % in vsnetrw, but that doesn't cover the case where I also want to duplicate the contents.

Making y and p work seamlessly in that buffer is also an appealing strategy, but would be a much bigger departure in terms of feature set.

Yeah no worries, like you said making y p requires much more work. At the moment I'm using my fork and use this feature a lot.
