I had just published the resource and made the resource getNavigationGroup() return the group I wanted, but I think I'll use this workaround thanks!

I still think this is only a workaround and would ideally like to see the ability to set the navigation group straight from the config. eg:

'navigation_group' => 'User Management' // sets the group to 'User Management'
'navigation_group' => true // sets the group to whatever it finds from translations
'navigation_group' => false // no nav group

This would keep it all in the same place as the nav badge and ordering. I'd be happy to submit a PR
