Unfortunately, @gregpabian is not working for CKSource (the company behind all these projects) anymore. For some time we hoped to hire a developer capable of maintaining all these projects, but our priorities have changed and we don't plan to use Bender.js in our new projects (Bender's features are not crucial for them). This eventually means that as a company we'll not use browser-launcher2 at all.
Taken that @gregpabian doesn't work with us anymore we lack the expertise to even review the PRs to keep the project alive based on the contributions. In this case, the only reasonable solution is finding a new maintainer who'll publish browser-launcher3. If you know whether anyone's done so already, please let us know, so the community can port its PRs to that project.
Thanks for all your contributions and sorry that we're not able to maintain the package anymore,
CKSource team

Until browser-launcher3 is created, the James team have been building james-browser-launcher, which was forked from browser-launcher2. It includes all relevant PRs going into browser-launcher2, as well as better browser detection
Dear all,
We're sorry to announce that the project will not be maintained any further.
The original https://github.com/substack/browser-launcher, being dead itself, was forked by @gregpabian about 2 years ago to allow him to fix some bugs which were blocking its integration with Bender.js – a test runner used in projects like CKEditor 4 and CKFinder 3.
