Are we ready to note that Noble host provides experimental support? Perhaps we can get some help in ironing problems?

Only experimental support? Stable version of Noble has been out for 4 months now, it should be the main supported build host in my opinion 😅

Note for next Ubuntu release: Test about 3-4 months before the stable release to iron out bugs so we are ready for the stable release when it drops :)

Noble was probably one of the worst Ubuntu LTS releases ever. Lots of trouble on all ends. And we will certainly not attempt to fix/workaround bugs from upstream just because it lacks quality in comparison to Debian.

Saying supported raises expectations + pressure, while we know for at least those problems:
https://armbian.atlassian.net/browse/AR-2432
Even we had time to deal with this, I think this is too much for "right before the release".

I haven't noticed any of those problems on my build host, fortunately (not saying there weren't any issues).

Many of the issues we had with kernel and U-Boot compilation were because Ubuntu 22.04 used an old GCC version and some of the code, especially vendor stuff, was not prepared for GCC13/14.

Makes sense, fair enough 👍
