It's too buggy and is reporting issues that just don't exist.
The configuration cache now reports failures if a command is executed during config time. JGit implicitly does this when opening a repo. The old grgit plugin loads the grgit repo eagerly at configuration time and unresolvably runs into this. Users who want the configuration cache should switch to the service plugin.
