Modifications to the RTP may be made within the 4-year update cycle through Council-adopted amendments. More information about the RTP planning and adoption process can be accessed from the RTP website and within the RTP document.

The RTP Projects web map allows users to explore projects by their location, transportation project mode/type, anticipated project timing (i.e. phasing), and costs of planned projects. Projects are shown geographically on the map as line and point features.

The map's default basic project filter allows users to color projects on the map by either the projects’ Transportation Mode or the projects’ Phase Years. You can also filter the map to show just selected modes or phases – for example all Transit Projects in Phase 1 of the plan. Clicking on a project line or point will open a project information window with more information about the project(s) found at that geographic location.

The advanced project filter, accessed by clicking the arrowhead at the bottom of the basic filter, provides an expanded set of criteria to control what is displayed on the map. Filter options include project subtypes for each mode, project cost ranges, fiscally constrained or needs-based phasing, and project jurisdiction (f.ex. UDOT or local government ownership).

Anytime you pan or zoom the map, or customize how the projects are displayed on the map, your choices are updated as parameters within the maps's URL that is shown in your browser's location (web address) bar. This means you can bookmark the map or copy/paste the URL into an email and when the map is reopened from that saved URL, you or others will see what you were looking at when the URL was saved or copied.
