This project is a Node web app (using Express) that leverages AWS DynamoDB for a datastore. It was built for an IBM developerWorks Knowledge Path. The source code is CoffeeScript and you will need an AWS account as two environment variables (ACCESSKEY and SECRETKEY) are required for DynamoDB authentication.
Make sure you have a current version of Node. I recommend NVM. Then cd into the root of this project and type:
$> npm install
Next, make sure you have Coffeescript in your path -- just install it for your current installation of Node:
$> sudo npm install -g coffee-script
Finally, make sure you have Ruby & Foreman (what if you don't? Install Heroku Toolbelt as that'll give it to you) and then type:
$> foreman start
Boom. Done.
This project uses Mocha and should -- to run these tests, type cake test.
