Searching in a specific server channel dm

This guide will show you how to use the tool to search for your messages in a specific server/channel/dm.

Enable Discord developer mode (if you haven't already)

In order to copy ids in later steps, you will need developer mode enabled:

1. Open Discord
2. Go to settings
3. Go to Advanced
4. Make sure the first toggle is enabled:

Searching in a specific server

1. In Discord, navigate to the server that you want to search in
2. Right click the server and click "Copy Server ID" at the bottom

3. In Data Package Tool, click the "Options" button in Messages tab
4. Click the "+" button next to "Search only in specific channels/guilds ids"

5. Paste in the id you've copied earlier

6. Click "OK"
7. Click "Save"
8. Click "Search"

Searching in a specific channel

1. In Discord, navigate to the channel that you want to search in
2. Right click the channel and click "Copy Channel ID" at the bottom

3. In Data Package Tool, click the "Options" button in Messages tab
4. Click the "+" button next to "Search only in specific channels/guilds ids"

5. Paste in the id you've copied earlier

6. Click "OK"
7. Click "Save"
8. Click "Search"

Searching in a specific DM

1. In Discord, navigate to the dm that you want to search in
2. Right click the dm in the dms list and click "Copy Channel ID" (NOT Copy User ID) at the bottom

3. In Data Package Tool, click the "Options" button in Messages tab
4. Click the "+" button next to "Search only in specific channels/guilds ids"

5. Paste in the id you've copied earlier

6. Click "OK"
7. Click "Save"
8. Click "Search"
