Beta Version 6 Changes:

  • Added ECAPE and Irreversible Adiabatic Ascent to Sounding Viewer module.

If you already have Java installed on your system, simply download the JAR file and run it.

If you do not have Java installed on your system, download and extract the ZIP file labeled with your operating system. Follow the instructions contained in the "README.txt" file.

If you do not know whether you have Java installed on your system, run java -version in Command Line (Windows) or Terminal (Mac, Linux). Beta Version 5.1 Changes:

  • Fixed bug where program would freeze while downloading observational radiosonde data.

Beta Version 5 Changes:

  • Observational soundings from the SPC Experimental Sounding Page added.
  • 50 mb Mixed Layer CAPE (ML50CAPE) removed, 100 mb Mixed Layer CAPE (ML100CAPE) relabeled to Mixed Layer Cape (MLCAPE).
  • Inflow Layer CAPE (ILCAPE) added.
  • Skew-Ts are now more skewed.

Beta Version 4.3 Changes:

  • OMEGA-CAP parameter in sounding viewer module now uses LFC instead of LCL.
  • Note: As the only change was in a dependency project, the source code in this repository is the same as 4.2. However, the attached JAR and ZIP files do contain the change.

Beta Version 4.1 Changes:

  • Added consideration of environmental air entrainment within the parcel, shown alongside a parcel path that does not consider entrainment. Entrainment is an approximation of Peters et. al. 2023, but not exactly what the paper describes.
  • Adjusted colors of watch parallelograms.
