I'd love to be able to use this plugin to do batch edits on the Dublin Core metadata fields for file attachments as well as items. I'm not sure if this is feasible – thanks for a great plugin regardless!

Same! And if this is a consideration, it might be worthwhile exploring how the plugin could allow for editing any record type in bulk. Collections in Omeka also use Dublin Core.
Thanks a ton for the feedback! This does seem like a worthwhile and
plausible feature. We haven't had developer time to invest in this plugins
in a while, but the next time we do, this upgrade will be on our list. We
hope this will happen in the next few months. In the mean time, if any
other developers want to give this a shot, we would welcome pull requests.
