calendar-viewer

Light weight responsive HTML calendar like Google Calendar. Displays a feed of JSON events. The JSON format is described in https://www.github.com/timvervoort/ical-viewer. But other sources can be used as well.

How to use

The simple calendar plugin needs moment.js to function. Include the following scripts in your HTML:

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/moment.js/2.23.0/moment.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/calendar.js"></script>

Default styles for the calendar are present in styles.css.

Create a DOM object with an ID. Pass the ID from that object and the url to a JSON calendar to the SimpleCalendar constructor to generate the calendar. The ID and url parameters are required.

<div class="calendar" id="demo"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
    var calendar = new SimpleCalendar({
        id: 'demo',
        url: 'https://www.example.org/path/to/json/output'
    });
</script>

            });

JSON event feed

The minimal JSON feed for this calendar exists out of:

{
    "data": [
        {
            "date": "YYYY-MM-DD",
            "slots": [
                {
                    "start": "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS",
                    "end": "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS"
                },
                {
                    "start": "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS",
                    "end": "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS"
                }
            ]
        },
        {
            "date": "YYYY-MM-DD",
            "slots": []
        }
    ]
}

Slots may be empty, dates may be skipped or repeated. The order of dates and the slots inside dates does not matter. However the date must be the same as the date (without the time) provided in start and end in it's slots. Slots may overlap and are all drawn in the calendar. The last provided slots will ovelap all others if any.
