Newpipe problems

What is/are your question(s)?

I'm not tech savvy at all, will be surprised if I can even find out if this is where I go to ask a question. What happened to newpipe in the last week. I have to open all subscriptions in a browser now where before I could just click on each subscription and pick the one I wanted to watch. What happened and how do I get it back working correctly?

This issue has been fixed in 0.24.1 (Not released yet.)

YouTube Shorts and livestreams (including VODs) of most channels are not available in videos listed in channels, due to the separation of them into separate tabs. This issue could be solved only when channel tabs will be implemented.

However, you can use workarounds for now:

For feeds, use the dedicated method to fetch them (a.k.a. RSS feeds);
For channels: you can use the uploads playlist of a channel to get all its public videos: take a channel ID (not a username or a handle), replace UC by UU at the beginning of the ID and use the resulting ID as a playlist ID (append this ID to a playlist URL like https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list= and then open this URL in NewPipe).

I hope I'm replying in the correct spot. Thanks for responding to my question. All too confusing for this NOT TECH SAVVY old lady. I think I'll just wait for the new release/update and keep going through browser for now!!

Here is explain me like i'm 5 style explaination

@xyoutuber here is the new version which will be available soon officially but beta(for testing purpose) release is available you can download the app from this link

Unzip/extract it and you will find an app(.apk file) install it and you are good to go.

It will install as a separate app not on top of the original app.

To transfer your settings, data, subscriptions

1. Open official Newpipe app
2. Click on the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines to open sidebar)
3. Go to settings> content> export database then browse to some folder where you want to save the backup
4. Open newly installed app and then go to settings> content> import database
5. Now browse to the previously saved backup file in step 3
6. Select the file and click ok

Voila! you are now set and the app will work fine as it was working earlier

@xyoutuber just update the app using Newpipe via settings> updates> check for updates or just open Newpipe a notification for update will appear just download and install the fixed app and your problem will be resolved
